My youngest little one is obsessive about calamari and whereas I don’t eat it as I’m vegan, I prefer to share what the entire household get pleasure from, right here.

    That is my Dad’s recipe.

    Calamari (Fried Squid)

    Components:

    1 tbsp sea salt
    4 tbsp plain flour
    4 tbsp cornflour
    400g squid tubes, washed
    Vegetable oil for deep frying
    Lemon and lemon wedges
    Black pepper
    Cayenne pepper
    Parsley stalks

    Methodology:

Combine the plain flour and corn flour with the ocean salt. Lower the squid tubes into rings with a pointy knife. Fill a big pan with vegetable oil. Dip the squid rings into the flour, shaking off extra flour and fry for 2-3 minutes till crispy and golden.
Squeeze lemon over the rings and sprinkle with cayenne and black pepper. Garnish with parsley stalks and lemon wedges.
