What do you all the time have in your kitchen? When Nora Ephron wrote her famous list of issues she’d miss and never miss, she stated she’d miss butter, pie, bacon, waffles, and the idea of waffles. And it made me surprise what meals carry different folks pleasure.

Curious, I texted cookbook creator Dan Pelosi this morning, and his checklist was: “olive oil, rigatoni, castelvetrano olives, lemons, anchovies.” And our beloved Jenny Rosenstrach advised me: “hummus, yogurt, cabbage, cottage cheese — and this time of 12 months, Mallomars.”

Then I requested my buddy Adam of The Amateur Gourmet, and he stated: “blueberries, bittersweet chocolate, Frantoia olive oil, anchovies, and Aleppo pepper for that fruity warmth.”

Kate Baer, poet and mother of 4, has “tortilla chips, feta, roadside fruit, frozen peas, and sourdough bread from my sister in regulation.”

Ali Slagle simply wrote about Samin Nosrat’s 40 essential ingredients, which embrace Dijon mustard, chickpeas, basmati rice, bone-in rooster thighs, and pink onions. And from Dealer Joe’s? She shares Taiwanese Green Onion Pancakes within the freezer. “Then I can — for breakfast or dinner — have a scrambled egg or two on a scallion pancake.”

Lastly, I needed to ask Freddie, my private chef, and his checklist was: “apples, eggs, rooster inventory, olive oil, and black pepper (within the mill, you need to grate it on the spot). Oh, and broccoli within the freezer, so I can sauté it with garlic and oil for my boys.”

What 5 issues do you all the time have readily available? I’d love to listen to. Our personal checklist has stayed principally the identical: cheddar cheese, French yogurts, honeycrisp apples, Gotham Greens pesto, and cavatappi pasta. Plus, all of the containers of Cheerios for teenage boy breakfasts!

P.S. My favorite lunch, the best jarred tomato sauce, and what are your pet peeves? (I’ve a bizarre one.) Additionally, we requested this query three years ago and nine years ago! Have your solutions modified?
